| I just pre-ordered Aion, and it may end up being the MMO I play for a while (at least until KotoR Online comes around). I really like the diversity in the classes and quests, but most of all I really enjoy the Elyos vs. Asmodae vs. Balaur PvP content. One of my favorite MMOs before CoX was DAoC, and its nice to see someone take the RvR concept to the next level. | |

| This quote alone wants me to get into the middle of a battle in Aion's Abyss:
"The Balaur are a server-controlled NPC faction, so players cannot choose to play them. However, just because they are controlled by the server doesn't mean they are stupid; they can make choices, and players will never quite know what they are going to do. For example, imagine a castle siege-style scenario, where one of the player factions, the Asmodians, is attacking the Elyos faction's castle. In the middle of this siege, the Balaur may appear.
When they arrive, no-one will know what they are going to do. They may have previously helped the Asmodians, but that doesn't matter; in the siege, they might betray them and help the Elyos. Or they might help the Asmodians to siege the Elyos' castle. Or... they might try and take the castle for themselves, fighting against both the Elyos and the Asmodians.
The important thing to realize is that the Balaur are not typical NPCs. They are the third faction in the game, and they have free will, which makes them very unpredictable."

| Typically we post links when we talk about games, especially when limited betas are available.

| I would like some more information on how powers are tied to the elements. What elements are present in the game world? If it's as good as everyone keeps saying, we could vote on opening up a chapter in Aion. | |

| Best place to find that information is at Aion Armory at in the Skills section. Spiritmasters are completely elementalists and have fire, wind, earth, and water pets. I believe some of their spells also come from those elements. Sorcerers are the same with their spells. Sorcerers can also turn someone into a Tree (mez/hold). I know after playing a Chanter during the beta this past weekend, I had skills called Promise of Wind and Promise of Earth. There is also an Incantation of Gale. It really makes sense though since a lot of Asian philosophy and mysticism revolves around the four elements. I believe the Warrior classes are the only ones that aren't directly tied to some element. A few more links: Aion SourceTen Ton Hammer - AionAion Online - NC Soft website | |

| Awesome. I love seeing Wind and Water in there. I grow so tired of games leaving those two out. I'm going to give this a look. If there is any way for us to get into the Beta let us know and we'll come check it out. I've been keeping an eye on the game but have never really bothered to get into it. Not a huge fan of fantasy games, but this one always looked promising. | |

| I got in this past weekend by getting a beta code off the Fileplanet giveaway. But look around as I believe there are a number of sites giving away Aion beta keys.
The other way to guarantee you are in the beta is to preorder it. You also get a 48 hour head start by doing that (as well as other goodies).

| Aion does sound awesome. I remember looking at some stuff on it last year when I was still in California. C.O. is a really great game, but I'm feeling the burn myself. I don't think I've logged in longer than 10 minutes over the last 3 weeks.
I wish somehow the game had been released a year ago, but that's not the case. For me, it's not the game, so if anyone reading this isn't in Beta yet, I'm not crying DOOM! I've just been hit with a solid dose of reality--trynna lose some weight;I move in a week; I start school in 2 weeks; I'm trying to get back into martial arts-- so I've just got a lot on my plate right now.
I'm not sure if I'm even going to purchase Champs-Online until maybe after the first or second update because I think that time would be better spent learning my way around a new city and studying.
The DC game looks promising. The Star Wars game looks VERY promising...especially after the announcement about the voice acting. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

XD This may be my fanboy opinion, but DCU looks like crap. most N64 games literally have better animation. (Anyone remember how fluid Super Mario 64 was? Now look at the staff guy attacking those zombies in that one vid.) And, While I agree with the devs that playing as Superman in an MMO would be really, REALLY stupid, I just can't shake the feeling that the game focuses on HIM rather then ME. Like, when I play a game, I kind of want feel that acknowledgment of being Sonic the Hedgehog, the main character. So when people shout "HEY LOOK! THERES SONIC THE HEDGEHOG! HES SO AWESOME!" So then I can think "Yeah, and I'm controlling him! So I'M awesomer! 8D" I know you can't do that in MMO's, But FFXI pulled that off really well. And in CoH Statesman and Co were off fighting somewhere so you always pretty much play how you want and not live in anyones shadow. Whoops, went into kind of a rant there. o.o
