Committee Rosters / Descriptions

Committee are like clubs. If you would like to participate in an area to help organize, maintain or simply help brainstorm on that subject, then a committee is a place for you. You can be a part of as many committee as you like. All that is required is for you to be active in them. Each committee has a forum, so you don't have to be in a committee to participate in a subject from time to time if you feel you may not have the activity.

If you don't have the activity you may be removed from the committee by it's members if they feel you're not active enough. This isn't some sort of penalty, personal vendetta or punishment and you can rejoin the committee at any time you feel you'd be active enough. All committees aside from the Mentoring Committee has no resistictions on memberships or has any true leadership.

Committees are led by pure leadership skills and not by rank. That said, no one person has the final say unless they're the only member of that committee, at which point any new memberships can always change decisions, policies, storylines, etc. It is highly suggested however that committee members or not all be listened to if they spend the time to post in your committee forums on topics. We're all in this together after all and no one can think of or accomplish everything.

If you would like to be a member of a Committee, then reply on which Committee you would like to join here and you will be added to the committee's roster. If you would like to change committees or remove yourself or an inactive member, then let myself or another Mentor know as they are the ones capable of editing the posts' information and in some cases editing your Rank Title and Groups Access.

Committee Memberships - Each has their own forum, with moderator status for Stickies, and Events concerning their target subject.

Mentoring Committee

This Committee deals with overall organization of members, their ability to decide on what level the future changes in CotE. Mentors will both actively recruit members as well as guide them through any questions they may have about CotE in general, the forums or the game they're playing. They will moderate the forums, handlings matters of access to ranks like the Committees, and making sure posts that may appear to risk breaking an NDA are taken care of on behalf of the members. They will act on any inappropriate behaviour or text, wether it be to simply modify a few letters to taking steps to ban the member in question. Should any teamups with other guilds be required to enjoy the games, the Mentors will be more than ready to take the steps to contact and negotiate schedules and rules to do so. Some of the mentors may actively lead in-game, doing so through RP, having their character be a head honcho kind of guy or just simply organizing in OOC. Others may stay in the forums and simply keep tabs out of game on the overall membership, focusing instead on recruiting and guiding CotE from afar.

Leadership is not permanent. To remain part of the mentor committe, just as with all committee one must first be active. They must then be effective, wether it be in quantity or just quality. Last but not least, to prevent burnspot and keep the thinking fresh there will most likely be several changes in leadership over the course of CotE's gaming reign.

Website Committee

CotE website is designed as a 'welcoming matte' for the forums which is easily the heart of CotE. It is the first thing potential new members, allies and enemies will see when they follow our signature links from other forums. It must be in top shape and project a sense of who and what CotE is. It must have elements of storyteller, team player, competitor, artist, and scoializer in one. It must reflect everything that is CotE in the best possible light and entice viewers to explore it, eventually leading it down into the forums below.

For this job, members will need a variety of skills, skills that no one person who possibly posess or contribute all at once even if they did. That is why this committee exists and why it will need to remain to keep the website fresh and alive, but most importantly welcoming so that those web browsers will always come back the next game they decide to play.

Honestly I don't even know enough about tech and software to write about what someone with knowledge in that area could possibly describe their committee as so I'll leave it up to new members to write something up for themselves and what help would actually be required by members that can be assisted in by tech members.

Shadow Committee

This group of evil bastards is what you would call, the emo group. Yes kiddies this is the group that goes around talking about how dark and moody everyone 'else' is when they've never figured out how to leave puberty themselves. Now then, what do these weirdos do? They write stuff, draw stuff, talk about stuff stuff. What is this stuff? Why only the most darkity dark darkness of them all, that's right I'm talking about Villains! In fact no member is allowed into this committee without perfecting the evil laugh. It's how they tell if you're genuinely evil or just pretending to be. So let's move on to more specifics shall we?

Some of the these you may see discussed in this forum, are villains destined to be in the Rogues Gallery but are still in their rough draft with many plot holes still left to fill. You may see some brainstorming on various topics, from villaingroups, nemesis characters, base creation, storylines, role-play setups, to organizing PvP events for CotE's heroes to play against the villains we make. At the end of the day, who and what CotE faces is usually decided between the Shadow and Element Committees, with the villain creations being doen by the Shadow Committee. So if that's what you'd like to participate in then this may be the Committee for you!

Powers Committee - Restricted Until Open Beta

This Committee consists of those who like to create new characters all the time and who by default would have knowledge of many powers and combinations. Powergamers and Mathmaticians who like to Min/Max the numbers of powers and how they interact with each other would also take part in this Committee. It is from these poeple who will come together with knowledge of power specifics to help make the best guides and faqs available in this game. While their forum section will still be open to allow the entirety of the group to offer their experiences and knowledge for them to sift through and expand on their own knowledge and ability to guide our members. Love role-playing all you want, but no one likes to have a weak character. These guys will help you figure out how to build your character to now have to trade off imagination for effectiveness or appearances of power animations.

PvP Committee - Restricted Until Open Beta

Would you like to share your experiences in PvP with others? Possibly work with other PvPers to makes a sets of guides or FAQs to be read by our members and even the public? Have you found a nice combination of powers that work best in PvP? Do you know how PvP maps and scenarios might work that would be confusing for others? Could you possibly be interested in organizing a PvP event? One that might even be co-designed by the Role-Play Committee to have a CotE scenario played out? If you answered yes to any of these questions then you should consider joining the PvP Committee.

Elemental Committee shouldn't be a problem. Role-play is 50/50 atm. I'll know that one when I try it.

The Gaming Committees can wait until they release so that we don't have to hold anything back or risk anything NDA-wise.
