So this Dark Storm is a series of player Initiatives (groups with unique traits) who someone use the Dark Shroud storyline in some way to make their character. Wether is be an actual Dark Shroud character to simply having had interactions with one or using one of it's sold technologies, serums or even hiring Dark Shroud to grant them ascension. Dark Lightning Initiative adds the final piece of the puzzle, completing the group with mercenaries that can come from any backround outside the Dark Shroud.
Dark Ascension: A culmination of all of Lord Morcalivan and Alega'os genetic and technological knowledge combined with the mystical properties of the Eye of Mirrors to plot out possible mutations when exploring each gene. Once enough data is presented on the genes and a common mutation is located. A new exploration of the possible methods of aquiring that mutation is undertaken to aquire more data. Once finished the final process where the actual mutation takes place occurs. These mutations have limitless potential for success or failure, a blessing or a curse. One thing is for certain, unlike most Dark Shroud members, these mutants surely have the potential to surpass Lord Morcalivan and then some. It will surely be a challenge to keep them in line, and keep them onboard witht he Dark Storm's plans both during the coming battles and especially when they're done and gone. The question remains, when will they stop being seen as an asset and start being seen as a threat?
Dark Swarm Initiative: The most noticeable aspect of the Dark Swarm is that an early prototype of the armour, (heavily modified after stolen) is used by the Dark Shroud's most infamous opponent, Morcalivan himself. The armour was designed using genetic and nanite material from Morcalivan, Nanite, Overheat and Overcharge. It is a culmination of their drawing solar and magnetic power to be controlled by the nanites within the user's bloodstream. On top of this the user is given Ant Serum which enhances the user's physical attributes to above human, grants minimal regeneration and biolelectricity generation. Combining these three power sources, the armour, made entirely of nanites will help mold it to grant flight and invulnerability. When in an offensive state, the wearer will channel the energy through his Alivan blades, which can form the energy as reshapeable blades, or to be used in energy projection to fry, shock or crush targets. This diverse reshaping of the energy gives them an edge and unpredictability in combat. Combined with their connection to the Armourgeddon AI to coordinate their attacks and they are a fearsome force of one thousand strong.
Dark Thunder Intitiative: When the Missing 236 needed to be replaced, instead of simply scrapping them it was deemed that they could still serve the Dark Shroud and had great potential for the future of mankind. The Dark Thunder Initiative is the process of training and arming the former 236 inmates both physically and mentally to prepare them for their membership to the Dark Storm, the elite of the elite Dark Shroud chosen to stand toe to toe with the Alega'os Empire and come out the victor.
Dark Cloud Initiative: Taken from the Dark Shroud forces and allies, these groups of highly talented and commanding individuals were able to rise up out of the pile of recruits to new heights with their ambitions. Some might simply be skilled, some might have a commanding prescence who easily is capable of rounding up the troops. Others may have a hidden mutation or family backround in the mystic arts. Whatever the case may be, these individuals are special enough to stand next to the elite members of the other Dark Storm Initiatives and be given the duty of bringing Earth up to code so that it survives the coming of the Alega'os Empire.
Dark Lightning Initiative: The Dark Lightning Initiative is the Dark Shroud's final answer to the gaps in the Dark Storm's armour that may arise during unforeseen circumstances. They are typically purchased with a monthly contract for their services with the growing Dark Shroud economic reserve provided mostly by the Order of the Eye. They are made of a wide variety of super powered, super know-it-alls or super equipped humans, mutants, aliens, sorcerors, etc. They're not as loyal to the Dark Shroud cause as a whole, and there have been instances of spies in the past, but Lord Morcalivan is confident that the reward of these individuals being let into the Dark Storm in it's time of need is so far worth the risk. It's unpredictability and reserve tactical position within the storm should prove useful in the coming war.
